Le Louvre is a fantastic place to sit and snap photographs with a great zoom lens. It has been quite some time since I just wandered the city with my camera, and I got the chance to get away recently and snap shots to my heart’s content.
One month, one month has passed… the most mind blowing month of my life. I am forever changed. I am now a mama.
I have only blogged once about my pregnancy, not wanting to turn my Paris blog into a blog about weird food cravings and nausea episodes (not that I really had either of those), nor do I want to transform this into a blog about everything baby (there are plenty of those already out there and they do it quite well). But I do want to share with all of you readers my absolute joy in this incredibly transforming time in my life.

Already a few days into the new year, and I am finally getting to a blog post. Chéri and I had a cozy romantic celebration at home just the two fo us to ring in 2015. I made us gluten free pizza and we had a movie marathon. I honestly wasn’t in the mood for anything more than that, nor was I in any condition (at 6 months pregnant) so if you didn’t know yet now you do. Voilà! Chéri and I are going to be parents!!!
Bientôt l’heure du goûter ! Happy birthday @pretemoiparis #pmp5years
It was a cosy and charming party at Treize Bakery, tucked away at the back of a darling courtyard on rue des Saints Pèeres. Friends and fellow Paris bloggers came to help toast to me and my blog. Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement.
The party was sponsored by 5 amazing people whom I care about.
Laurel of Treize Bakery hosted us in all her hospitiable glory packed with her endless enthusiasm and warmpth. A true friend indeed, she also offered up a gift certificate for the free raffle at the end. Laurel I can’t thank you enough, you never cease to amaze me with your generosity. Read more →
I just wanted to post a quick little « billet » as we say in French, to share and spread the amour. My fellow blogger Nathalie of The Parisienne was featered the other day in L’Express Styles and she was so generous to reference Prête-Moi Paris as one of her go-to blogs of Paris. I felt honored to be mentioned amongst just a few others, while there are so very many wonderful bloggers out there that love to pay hommage to this city that we love so much.
I love when people love Paris without hesitation. (This doesn’t mean they must love everything, because loving Paris also means accepting her with her unpleasant sides too even if we complain about them).
And no matter how many times I go to see the Eiffel Tower, I always always take a picture of her. She is beautiful. Weather it is against a grey cloud-cast sky, or dazzling beneath a vibrant evening blue hue, she is the star of this city, and everyone who comes her heads to her feet to pay hommage in the best way we modern humans know how : by taking her picture.
One day in February, as I was treating myself to a stroll around her gardens, I though how interesting it was to see the intense concentration on people’s faces as they captured her image. They were trance-like almost. Read more →
January always begins with new resolutions, or renewed goals, for many. I am not always keen on making resolutions, but I do like to reflect on the year that has passed, and the year that has just begun. I like to imagine my plans and goals, and visualize myself meeting them.
This brought me to thinking about illustrating that process of thought… And what better way than with my trusty camera and my muse : Paris.

So the Prête-Moi Paris 4 year blogiversary fête was a hit and a success. Complete with a vintage fashion show, champagne, and a raffle for prizes, it was a feast of pink fluff, cupcakes and DIY!
Sion of Paris Imperfect and Gail of Perfectly Paris ; Meg of De Quelle Planète Es-Tu? Lisa of Ella Coquine Mary Kay of Out And About in Paris and Patricia of Patricia Parisienne have all written posts on the event. Thanks ladies! You make me sound waaay too fab! *blushing*
It was a fabulous gathering of our little blogging community in Paris, most of us expats, but a Frenchy and a best friend or two and the crowd was well mixed albeit largely feminine (yeah girl power!). Chéri high-tailed it far away for the evening. Something tells me all those pink puff scared him a little. But being the absolute chéri that he is, he helped me clean up every last sequin sparkle and cupcake crumb when it was all over. I am truly a lucky woman.
Coming back to Paris after Summer vacation, always creates a little re-acquaintance period where suddenly the city captures you again with her light and beauty… and it goes without saying, I am constantly trying to capture it all with my lens.
Falling back in love with Paris after every time you leave if for a couple weeks…is magical.
