Smells like home for the holidays

I seem to be on a scent quest lately with all these perfume posts. I don’t know why, but I hope you all like it. I promise diversity will return to my blog right after the holidays! I was thinking about all of the home scents that I love this time of year, and obviously my first idea is to… Read more →

Paris lights up for the holidays

I went to see the lights get switched on at the Champs Elysées this year. First time I have done this. The city has updated their holiday light display and has put in place super ecological lights that are saving much more energy than they used to. Diane Kruger was the invited celebrity to come flip the switch to light… Read more →

Paris Baroque – Ouverture Magnifique

I wrote about it in October, and now it is here : The newest music festival on scene in Paris just opened last night (November 23, 2012) with a beautiful and spectacular concert in the Saint Sulpice church. For much of the year it’s the Eiffel Tower that offers the greatest helping of sparkle; come winter time, the… Read more →

Tea for me!

I love tea… I wasn’t always a tea drinker though. It was the tea Esprit de Noël from Mariage Frères that converted me…but then the vocation of tea-drinker was more or less inevitable since the tea-party scene from the Alice in Wonderland cartoon was(and still is)  the most quoted scene throughout my adolescence. But over a year ago, chéri and… Read more →

Christmas dinner – Paris style

The fat content was high, the calories NOT low, but the taste and the enjoyment were divine!

Christmas dinner in Paris :

We started with foi gras… a delicacy made from the over-saturated liver of a goose (or a duck) that cut onto toasts and garnish with onion, fig or other savory jams. We had a white wine jelly and an onion confit to go with it. Accompanied with a white wine that is doux (sweet). Read more →

Paris, the city of holiday lights!

Merry Christmas, Joyeux noël, happy holidays everyone! The individuals of the city might not be decorative elves like they are in New England (where I grew up) but the city of Paris certainly makes an effort as a whole. Some streets are just draped in holiday lighting of all colors and one street even has music playing softly on speakers… Read more →
