Apéro Brunch Café Charm Delicious! Foodie French Parisian Pretty! Restaurant Wine

L’Instant : Café, Restaurant, Épicerie

I’m sitting in this new little neighborhood restaurant, grocer, café, called l’Instant. I’m enjoying a rare free moment. And no lie, “One Momemt in Time, by Whitney Houston is playing on their radio. You can’t make this up!

So this lovely little spot is one of several sprouting up lately around my corner of the Batignolles : Pont Cardinet.

It is a sweet stop for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, apéro and afternoon tea with an esthetic that’s cozy and inviting. Celadon chairs the hue of oxidized copper rooftops, contrast softly against a neutral backdrop of exposed stone, wooden flooring and slate gray cupboards. The most Parisian of color palettes, indeed.

Edwige et Anthony who opened up their new venture at the start of the new year 2019 have known eachother since 2002, the very same year I arrived in Paris. Another uncanny coincidence!

I enjoyed a rich Viennois Hot Chocolate (a fancy name for hot chocolate with whipped cream) and a ray of sunlight as I sat in the picture perfect window and watched the Batignolles wander by at the end of their afternoon.

I will be returning for all of the meals stated at the top of this post.
But also for a quick trip to the grocer corner for some carefully selected cured sausage, or homemade apple sauce, small batch patés, family produced wines, local beer, soup made by two ladies from Nantes and many more Frenchy products for my enjoyment at home.

Come and enjoy a moment in time at L’Instant in the Pont Cardinet corner off the Batignolles. You’ll probably stay a couple hours, like I did! 😂

  1. Thanks for including the address. Although I’ve stayed in Montmartre and therefore the 18th, I don’t think I’ve ever spent much time in the 17th. Places like this makes me want to do just that. Love your description of the color of the chairs 🙂
