Prête-Moi Party
So the Prête-Moi Paris 4 year blogiversary fête was a hit and a success. Complete with a vintage fashion show, champagne, and a raffle for prizes, it was a feast of pink fluff, cupcakes and DIY!
Sion of Paris Imperfect and Gail of Perfectly Paris ; Meg of De Quelle Planète Es-Tu? Lisa of Ella Coquine Mary Kay of Out And About in Paris and Patricia of Patricia Parisienne have all written posts on the event. Thanks ladies! You make me sound waaay too fab! *blushing*
It was a fabulous gathering of our little blogging community in Paris, most of us expats, but a Frenchy and a best friend or two and the crowd was well mixed albeit largely feminine (yeah girl power!). Chéri high-tailed it far away for the evening. Something tells me all those pink puff scared him a little. But being the absolute chéri that he is, he helped me clean up every last sequin sparkle and cupcake crumb when it was all over. I am truly a lucky woman.
There was DIY and the infamous amongst Parisians, Sugar Daze cupcakes all created with Prête-Moi Paris in mind. There was Kasia Dietz Bags clutches and Cleopatra’s Bling jewles on the models, and there was Mon Champagne bubbly popping, polka dots and sparkles everywhere and enough food that at one point I was actually worried that it wouldn’t all get eaten! (I grew up in a large family, I tend to over do it when it comes to food).
But there can never be enough champagne, that’s for sure!
The DIY cocktail was popular. I made up the recipe without even tasting it first so I am glad it was good! LOL! (Uh thanks everyone for being my guinea pigs!). I had a bottle of Campari, ice cubes, sparkling Elderflower water and mint sprigs. The combination of these four elements made for a tingling and refreshing drink with a dainty kick to it. (Forest, you would have enjoyed it. We missed you!)
My other DIY “atelier” was a table to paint a personalized party gift of a little tea bag dish for when you have finished steeping your tea. It went with oneof the little party favors stuffed in pretty pink organza sachets (a Prête-Moi Paris personalized tea bag that I DIYed!). I also had personalized lip balm tubes made by Majestic soaps on Etsy. Roseann was a delight to work with and she was FAST in getting them to me!
The fashion show of Vintage Galerie’s gorgeous gowns was well received, and was given an enthusiastic applause. There was many a dress with ruffle, fluff, tulle, lace and sequins, and accessories from Kasia Dietz or Cleopatra’s Bling to go with them. A couple of dresses were even accessorized with a glass of bubbly! And then to top it off, the lovely models came out in vintage lingerie! Oh la la! This is Paris people!! 😉
Sugar Daze offered a box of cupcakes for the raffle, Kasia Dietz offered two of her lovely new Bali Collection clutches, Mon Champagne offered a divine bottle of champagne, Cleopatra’s Bling offered a choice of any piece that was shown in the défilé, and Vintage Galerie offered a discount on one of their items. So the raffle was an anticipated part of the soirée for sure (hence why I put it at the end!) 🙂 Thank you to all these fantastic Parisian entrepreneurs and creators for their generosity in donating gifts, and their willingness to collaborate and dedicate their time to this frilly event.
But the best part of the evening was being able to share all of this and the little success of 4 years blogging with all of the wonderfully amazing people I have met thanks to this little blog. It has brought such richness to my Parisian experience. And all of these lovely people are pieces of my Paris.
♥ With love to you all ♥
