Galeries Lafayette Gourmand Gourmet & Grocery
Probably the chicest grocery store in Paris aside from La Grande Epicerie over at Le Bon Marché, the Galeries Lafayette saw a need in the very commercialized Grand Magasins quarter : a low count of grocery stores! So much fashion shopping and so little places to get your daily goods.
That has all changed now in this beautifully organized grocery boutique in the bottom floor of the Galeries Lafayette home department building on boulevard Haussmann. The displays beckon to you to pluck some of that juicy looking fruit, or fill a paper sachet full of nuts and grains, and the whole thing is surrounded on all sides (and above) by a massive food court with an extensive choice of restaurants and food stands with EVERY kind of cuisine you could hope for, ready and waiting for your order.
I stopped at the Café Pinson stand for a healthy lunch. Veggie juices are squeezed out and salads are made right before your very eyes. I ordered a green juice and the special of the day which was a “vegetable crumble” and I ate every last bite it was so good. And that juice, oh I could have sipped on it all day. I am so glad vegetable juices are becoming a thing now in Paris, it’s so good for you!
But YOU don’t have be healthy at the Galeries Lafayette food court, there is plenty of temptation! Eclairs de Génie, Lux’Cupcakes, Angelina chocolates, Pierre Hermé macarons and the list of sweet and savory food counters goes on. Indulge, don’t worry, you can burn off the calories in one of the sport classes offered by Lolë through 2016…and enjoy the free wifi throughout the whole store and tag your Instagrams with the Galeries Lafayette!

I’m so relieved they have the éclairs! Haha. What a nice find right in the heart of Paris.
