Earlier this month, the third edition to the Rose Bakery Paris family opened on the second floor at the Bon Marché on Paris’ Left Bank. After establishing a worldwide presence from Paris and London to Seoul and Tokyo, culinary power couple Rose and Jean-Charles Carrarini brought their organic, English tastes into a chic, Parisian atmosphere and opened the Rose Bakery Tea Room. “In respecting our values for what they are, and not what they represent, our move into the Bon Marché Rive Gauche avoids all stereotypes. Each of our locations is always very personalized. The space changes, but our cuisine remains the same.”
Set in the second floor’s rotunda next to the iconic department store’s book section, Rose Bakery has finally found a “décor that matches the level of its culinary offerings”. The 160 m2 luminous space exudes Parisian classicism where you can go for a morning, noon and afternoon break overlooking the Saint Germain-des-Près Haussmannian rooftops to enjoy the bakery’s organic scones with Tea Together for Rose Bakery honey and jams including French acacia honey, organic apricot and lavender leaf jam, and orange with fresh ginger marmalade. Interior decorator Emilie Bonaventure from be-attitude agency came in on the collaboration to design the Art Deco inspired feel injected into this simple yet rich location. Bonaventure achieved her goal of mixing “history, culture and innovation” as she worked the raw, natural Rose Bakery signature into the timeless elegance of the world’s first department store.
With crisp white walls and classic dark floors, a mixture of vintage and design pieces, and delectable muffins and cakes on darling pastry stands, the luxurious Tea Room let’s you live out the Parisian dream as you try out the bakery’s classic carrot cake or one of the specialty juices like the Green Juice that combines superfoods like avocado, spinach, cucumber, and green apple. Rose Bakery Tea Room at the Bon Marché is the epitome of feminine delicacy and the perfect spot to meet for a decadent midday break.
