Dressing Like Dita

I have a lovely habit of wasting time on one of my favorite websites : ShopStyle. It’s like having the world as a closet and being able to create outfits form millions and millions of articles. It’s addicting. I am warning you now.

I am also a big fan of Dita. You know who I am talking about. She inspires me and well frankly, I wish I had her waredrobe and work-out regime!

I created some looks from pictures of Dita Von Teese found off of Google. It was time-consuming but fun to browse thousands of pieces of clothing and accessories, looking for that one perfect piece to illustrate her outfits.

To mimic her outfit worn in this image in Sydney I have come up with : A Christian Dior red vest, a Jill Sander long pencil skirt, a Nancy Gonzalez crocodile belt, Louboutin peep-toes of course, Farfetched leather gloves, some rouge lipstick from YSL and of a deep black Lancôme liner for the eyes bien sûr!

To mimic her vintage ensemble I have come up with : A Reed Krakoff wrist cuff, A Yves Saint Laurent patent leather belt, A grey Linea day dress (that alsmost looks like tweed), an Alexander Wang pochette, Chanel shades, Chanel lipwear, Grey Mer peep-toe slingbacks, and some cheap Pilgrim sparkles for the ears.

To mimic her outfit worn at London Fashion Week for the Burberry Prorsum SS13 show I have come up with : A Paul & Joe floral print day dress, Stuart Weitzman moka colored heels, and Hermès vintage Kelly, a Filson umbrella, and some deep red YSL lip color.

To mimic her classic and light ensemble I have come up with : A grey Kilian Kerner Senses pencil skirt, a blue and white striped Mauro Grifoni barel-there cap sleaves top, some pearls from Moschino, a little Dior rouge for the lips and classic pumps from Roberto Festa.

  1. La belle Dita est aussi l’un de mes modèles… j’ai même une robe Dior (que je ne porte pas souvent hélas !). Mais on peut se faire son look avec des choses plus bon marché aussi 😉
