Hotel Westminster’s Signature Cocktail
When a five star luxury hotel in Paris invites you to test their cocktail concept and Michelin starred chef Christophe Moisand’s menu, YOU DO NOT SAY “NON MERCI”. You say OUI OUI OUI and make time in your life for things like that! I brought a friend with me, one whom I knew would appreciate everything we were destined to taste, Alana, who had joined me some time ago for an incredible meal at Spring restaurant. And what an evening we had at the Hotel Westminster Paris!
One of the Warwick International Hotel gems, the Westminster knows how to do luxury. We were greeted with extraordinary service, treated like five star clients and swept into a hallway of suites where we had room to relax, and enjoy. Trays of luscious bites of divinely crafted food (food is just not an elegant enough word to describe what we were eating) were swirled around us as we sipped champagne and snapped pictures of the luxury hotel suite and chatted with the commercial director for the hotel who had depths of knowledge and anecdotes to tell us about this historical hotel. It is the oldest running hotel in Paris and those who work there are very passionate about it.
After our champagne warm-up we finally headed over to the bar that was set up at the end of the hallway, where two expert gentlemen from the Duke’s bar, including Gérard the head barman, were deftly shaking up original concoctions for each and every guest. The concept is a questionnaire that you fill out when you arrive at your Signature room or suite (of which there are 28 out of the 102 total rooms), and the barman will use your answers to create your very own personalized cocktail, virgin or spiked, for you to enjoy. Both of mine were PERFECT. What a treat to have something made especially for you! Alana was also thrilled with hers. I find the idea original and fun. I do remember having a personalized drink made for me when I went to Un Dimanche à Paris (also with Alana), but I have no idea of their mixologist Mikael is still there, it was some time ago now, and there was no question card and no fancy hotel room.
Speaking of hotel room…dreamy, just dreamy. The suites have a spacious bedroom, and cozy living rooms, and a large dressing rooms with a stunning marble bathroom. The entire suite is decorated with incredible elegant style, in a French flair that recalls a different time yest fits well into today’s taste. Toiletries from Bvlgari complete this ultimate hotel suite.
Thank you so much to the amazing team at the Westminster Hotel Paris, who treated us like royalty for an evening and gave us a thrilling experience for our tastebuds!
