Marché des Batignolles
One of our favorite places to grocery shop is the covered market, Marché des Batignolles. Ithas got to be one of the friendliest neighborhood hubs in the 17th; it feels like you have been transported to a small provincial town what with the way people slow their pace and chat with each other, and me. The vendors share recipes and gush over good-tasting products. A trip here is inspiritaion to eat well, and cook often. Even Chéri is inspired (he goes there more often than I do!). Ever since we moved to this part of town he has suddenly become master chef chez nous. I am NOT objecting!
We have already mentioned this lovely market on a guest post from Paris Paysanne. But I thought it was necessary to reiterate the subject in depth (mostly because I could stop myself from snapping a thousand photos while shopping there recently). What is it about food that is so photogenic!?!
Here is my friendly fruit and vegetable merchant, who handles his wares with care, and sells top quality fruits and veggies.
The merchant from whom we get our dairy (for Chéri) and eggs offers really wonderful products at very low prices. Except the yogurts, which Chéri raves about. I miss French yogurt. #DairyIntolerant
This market has such a fesh and healthy ambiance. I feel better just shopping here.
There’s a little vegan spot as well, where you get food prepared for you before your eyes. And it’s delicious!
