Chocolate Treat!
Halloween is here, and although I didn’t find the inspiration to write a post concerning this fun holiday, I DID however find plenty of inspiration through my lens at a lovely little chocolate shop near my neighborhood. Formerly known as Charpentier, my in-laws often go there to get chocolates because they have known the owners for years and because they are super accommodating about my dairy intolerance. Whenever they want a special dairy-free chocolate treat for me, they request a made-to-order creation, pour moi! Pretty nice in-laws huh!?!
Recently though the long time owners decided it was time to retire. They had all sorts of clothing shops offer to take over the business, (as if rue de Courcelles needs another clothing shop). NOT. But these people remained true to a promise made to their chef chocolatier who worked as their associate for years in the kitchen, Didier Fourreau, (I like his name, it just sounds like a chocolate pastry chef!) and sold the business to him. Boy was I relieved! I love their chocolates! And it’s so nice to have reliable small businesses who are happy to make custom orders.
They do more than just chocolates though, they have macarons (giant ones!), nougat, marrons glacés, candy and you can order high quality wedding or party dragées from them (we did!) with lovely color choices.
You can buy online, but do stop in their sweet smell, adorable boutique… It’s even open on Sundays!
And for the Salon de Chocolat that is on going right now until November 3rd, find them at stand B7.
Bonne dégustation!

Oh man. If I lived next to that shop, I would be three times my current size! It all looks delectable!

Shani, all things in moderation are good. Well, not ALL things. But certainly chocolate! And a little bite of it each day is good for you! (The dark kind at least).
Yum…it looks so good, one of the little thing i miss about France!
So good! No delicious chocolate where you are?
Thank you for this article ! I have been working since one year with Didier Fourreau, first for the decoration of the shop, secondly for the website and the photos. Didier Fourreau is full of…. chocolate qualities !
Hervé! Chouette! Super joli boulot. Je suis très fan.
