Hexa by Kuho SS13 #PFW
Simple lines, delicate fabrics, lace. Pleats and folds like wings with solid colors. Hexa is going for simplicity in palette mixed with a complicated design. Cut-outs and intricate volumes that play with volumes and movement. The collection was inspired by the movie “Jane Eyre”.
The collection was shown at the Lycée Henri IV at the Spring Summer 2013 fashion week in Paris, a beautiful building in old Paris just behind the Pantheon.
I was glad to go there, as I hadn’t been there since I saw Luis Buchinho a few seasons ago, and I really like the space; with all the ancient bookshelves behind the seats set out for the audience. This seems like it is normally a reading room library. The Hexa collection seemed like a fragile ephemeral form of expression amongst all those formidable pages of learned scholars, and the contrast pleased me greatly.
