True to our current digital times, I met Aurélien of Le Bijou Parisien, on Instagram. I saw that he had liked a photo of mine, so I went browsing the account for this ultra Parisian brand, and started « liking » all sorts of photos. And I fell INSTANTLY under the charm of this fun and sophisticated way of wearing my adored city of Paris with their very inspired clothing and accessories. Read on further and you will too!
After our rapid exchange of likes and comments on social media, I sent an enthusiastic email asking for a meeting because I wanted to do whatever I could to promote Le Bijou Parisien. And of course, I was curious to meet the guys behind such a great idea! Their specialty is their line of excellent quality sweatshirts that have embroidery on the front depicting different iconic metro stations in Paris such as Belleville, Bastille, Champs-Elysées, Saint Germain…etc. They also have cuff bracelets that can be worn by both men and women with Paris metro stations depicted in tightly woven beading. The quality is excellent, the cut is chic and trendy, and the style is just perfect. For a Paris lover this is the essential to your fashionable wardrobe.
Together with Philippe, the dynamic duo has set out to conquer Paris with their Made-in-Paris, fair-wear and organic cotton labels. They are as ethical as they are creative. The idea was born of Aurélien’s love for his adopted city and inspired so obviously by the iconic Parisian Metro with it’s tiled walls and vintage mosaic signs.
In 2015 Philippe joined the project to help create the brand and logistics. They are quite the pair : Philippe, a family guy with a career of experience under his belt, and Aurélien a young hip Parisien with a good education, a creative streak and grand ideas, both of these gentlemen have what it takes to get a brand off the ground and running. The proof : their brand launched with a huge promo at Le Bon Marché, one of the most well known and prestigious department stores in town where Parisians go for the latest in fashion. It doesn’t get better than that for a great start!
I am looking forward to promoting them at my annual blog party in November. But don’t wait until then, go check out their site now and pick out your favorite style!
We did a quick photo shoot the other day so I can show you my favorite pieces from their stock. Are you more of a Pigalleite, or a Bellevillist? 😉 I just made up those terms… I lived in both neighboorhoods. Bastille was where I lived my very first year here way back in 2002, and Belleville was where I had my little studio apartment when I first met Chéri.
For the shoot I wore a cuff and two bracelets and two different Paris Métro sweat shirts, threw in a pair of H&M jeans, Nine West sneakers, my Hermès collier de chien bracelet, a silver Hermès ring and a vintage Paris ring and you have and easy trendy outfit to wear out and about in the City of Light, day and night.
Fun side note, the little red VW beetle in the photos below belongs to the owners of the bistro H.A.N.D. where we took a couple pictures, and after had coffee…I will be sharing that fun little spot with you here on the blog soon enough…
TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS BELOW : What Metro stations would you like to wear on your Bijou Parisien sweatshirt and bracelelt?!?
