A Very Sweet Suite @GHpalaisroyal
I returned with my Parisian pal Cédric to the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal recently, that gorgeous luxury hotel that is tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of Paris, for more of that incredible lemon tarte, but also to get a very exclusive look into one of their top suites : Le Suite Palais Royal. And oh what a sweet suite it is. My eyes were wide with imagination as I snapped pictures of every corner I could of this tastefully decorated mini apartment that goes under the guise of a hotel suite. Think plush, soft comfort and a stellar view!
This stunning hotel, a classified monument, is an 18th century “hotel particulier” or a very lavish errr, townhouse? That word just doesn’t describe the size very well. Think : a gentleman’s castle in a city. The Grand Hotel du Palais Royal commissioned Pierre-Yves Rochon to do the interior design and decorating. And what a beautiful choice they made. He has really created an aura of subtle luxury, of comfort and elegance : the essence of what the French seem to believe money should buy. And I couldn’t agree more. * Luxury is also enhanced to lofty heights when minute attention is paid to detail… Little delights such as fresh flowers in your bathroom, color coordinated French macarons and champagne to welcome you, luxury toiletries (eh hmm, Carita merci beaucoup!), the same ones used in the hotel’s day spa. *
This luxury rooftop hotel suite is just full of wonderful perks : two different views, one across the city towards the Eiffel Tower (I promise it looks much bigger in real life than it does through my camera lens), or overlooking a charming cobblestone courtyard café terrace (where there was a film crew shooting a scene there the day we visited (one of the charms of Paris : it’s a movie set really). Just think of slipping out of your plush terrycloth bathrobe into a slick Calcutta marble bathtub (also with a view), lathering yourself with all those Carita products sipping on champagne and nibbling those dainty macarons before drifting off to sleep in your king size bed…sounds like the perfect evening to me! There is also a darling terrace where you can savor your morning coffee or even dine while you watch that Eiffel Tower sparkle every hour…hello ROMANCE! All those 60 square meters of luxury just for you… Le Life quoi! Oh that dreamy life in Paris, n’est-ce pas!?!
