Wonder Vintage Market
The Wonder Vintage Market is a wonderful place of nostalgia and the perfect venue to find the perfect piece for the current trends of everything vintage!
I dragged Chéri there. But he wasn’t reluctant at all. I only had to entice him with the hope of finding vintage lamps. We were also hoping to find maybe a 1950’s clock for our kitchen or other decorative items for our home.
We didn’t find THE perfect clock, but we did get a big old dose of memory lane.
And even better, I met the most wonderful vintage fashion team, Vintage Galerie, all the way in the back corner of the Espace Commines in the north Marais where the event was held. Elisabeth and Camille are a fabulous team with an incredible collection, and we will be seeing more of them here on Prête-Moi Paris!
I loved the little hair dressing stand where you could get your own fabulous vintage hair-do.
The Speak n’ Say really brought Chéri and I back to our respective childhoods. I had one of those (in English) and he had one (in French). The pre-smart phone portable computer game that helped us learn how to spell. Now kids just play Candy Crush.
I would have gone home with several vintage phones if I didn’t have Chéri there to hold me back from my folly. I bought a couple of them several years ago, and now they just sit in a box on a shelf because I can’t walk around the house with them, the cord isn’t long enough. And really, sending a WhatsApp message on those babies is impossible!
What : Wonder Vintage Market – a space to find treasures from the past. Entry fee is 3€.
Where : l’Espace Commines : 17, rue Commines – Paris 3ème; Métro : Filles du Calvaire
When : Next events : Wonder Vintage Market is currently planning their next events for 2014 which is just around the corner. But you can head over to the Espace Commines from Nov. 29-Dec. 1, 2013 for the Maison Vintage salon, to get your fix!
What I liked best : The fun and playful attitude of the event, and the plethora of fun objects and decorative items.
What wish they had : Dancing to 50’s music!
I’m currently on the hunt for kitchen decorum and items for my cuisine in a vintage céladon green color. I’m hoping I’ll find more of that at the next event.
What’s your vintage lust?
