Paris for Thrill Seekers

Guest post by Bonny Baily :

Having enjoyed a number of Parisian adventures between the ages of 14-25, this London-based writer heads to Paris whenever budget allows. Although the capital’s landmarks are impressive, she loves nothing better than sitting in cafés opposite these tourism spots, people and poodle-watching. Glass of red in-hand and cheese board within reach, she loves sitting back and absorbing all that Paris has to offer.

Top 5 Activities in Paris for Thrill Seekers

Get the adrenaline pumping through your body by skipping the museums for a day and trying one of the attractions listed below for a thrilling Paris experience.

1. Go Tree Climbing at the Carisiolas Adventure Park
Enjoy many thrills and spills among the tree tops at the Carisiolas Adventure Park. There’s so much to do for all ages from a tree-to-tree adventure course and paintballing to quad biking and even a Tyrolean Jump – a rope crossing between two high points and the only one of its kind in France.

2. Enjoy City Sights from the Montparnasse Tower
Warning! Vertigo sufferers should look away now! The Montparnasse Tower offers unparalleled views of the capital from the 56th floor overlooking the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Notre Dame Cathedral Towers. The fastest elevator in Europe takes you to a lofty height of 689 feet in just 38 seconds.

3. Tackle White-Knuckle Rides at Disneyland Paris
If that doesn’t tickle your fancy you can always tackle Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris. Hold on to your hats as you encounter a series of explosive twists and turns on this runaway mine train set in the Wild West – just one of a series of heart-pumping rides at Eurodisney Paris.

4. Participate in the Paris Friday Night Skate
Every Friday evening, Paris hosts a roller skating ride around the city starting and ending at the Montparnasse train station. The free event has been known to have up to 35,000 skaters and is about 25km long. The journey can get pretty wild (particularly right at the front) so it helps if you’re a confident skater.

5. Jump Aboard a Hot Air Balloon
Float across the Parisian skies over picturesque countryside and medieval villages in a hot air balloon. It might not be as physically demanding as some of our other thrills, but the sense of being on top of the world is sure to get the adrenaline pumping around your body. Its incredible views will make any adrenaline junkie stand still and appreciate the beauty of Paris.
