Spa My Blend @ Le Royal Monceau

Hotel de luxe : Le Royal Monceau Raffles
When you are over 5 months pregnant and someone offers you to review their spa, you thank your lucky stars for the much needed pampering. My Blend by Clarins invited me to have a made-to-measure skin care facial at their ultra calm über luxurious spa at the Royal Monceau Raffles 5 star hotel. The Spa My Blend, located at the -1 level is a 1500 square meter establishment with a gorgeous 23 meter pearl of a pool. The innovative My Blend skin care products are the reason I was there. This branch brand of Clarins was founded by Olivier Courtin who is the youngest son of Jacques Courtin (the founder of Clarins). Clarins is considered the number 1 in Europe for high end beauty care. And Olivier Courtin who, enriched with experience and knowledge from his medical career as a surgeon, was inspired to create a skin care line that would focus on the regenerative nature of the skin as well as a made-to-measure approach to everyone’s skin care needs.

I was welcome with as much elegance as would be expected from a luxury spa in a five star hotel, given a locker for my things, a robe and slippers and as I had arrived early, was invited to relax by the pool while waiting for my beauty appointment. I nearly fell asleep it was so peaceful there.
Spa @ Royal Monceau Raffles : Spa My Blend by ClarinsDorothée, my esthetician, led me down a pristine white hallway to a pristine white room bathed in a soft lavender light which had a lovely calming effect. We began the beauty care treatment with an in-depth diagnostic of my skin  and state of health on a computerized screen that ran a rather advanced program. In addition to analyzing my answers to quite a few questions, the machine was also equipped to detect on my skin the redness, the sun damage, the elasticity and the dilation of the pores, with sensory imagery and a wand that tested the elasticity. It was an impressive tool. From the information gathered, the program offered its diagnosis, and the different products and boosters I should use.

The way My Blend works, is with a skin care system of creams and boosters so that each individual can have a personalized product that fits their skins needs. There are several base creams, and a rainbow of colorful “injection” boosters that are in fact injected into the cream base that is required for each skin type. These boosters target the different needs of the skin, whether it be a lack of moisture in the epidermis or an excess of sun damage, each booster has a purpose.

Dorothée had expert hands that left me feeling confident in her capability to offer me the most relaxing and rejuvenating moment I could have hoped for as I listened to the delightful classical music playlist created for the Spa My Blend by the hotel’s resident DJ.

At the end of the treatment, I was escorted to the refreshment area where I was offered Pierre Hermé macarons and fresh fruit juice at a gorgeous immaculately white, healthy snack bar. My deepest thanks to My Blend by Clarins for this delightful gift that came at the perfect time around the winter holidays and was so, so needed.

Now if I could get myself invited to the Royal Monceau restaurant to review their Michelin starred La Cuisine is beckoning to me like crazy!

I urge you to offer yourself a treat this winter though and take care of your skin at the Spa My Blend by Clarins at the Royal Monceau Raffles. You’ll feel amazing afterwards, and we all need a little extra care sometimes (pregnant or not!).
