L’Amour Menaçant Strikes Again

Waaaay back in 2011, I posted a little Valentine’s Day blog post about this lovely sculpture by Falconet that is in the collection at the Louvre Museum of Paris. L’Amour Menaçant 1757. It’s a sculpture of lovely little boy (reminds me of my Petit Chéri) and was made for the Gardens of Madame de Pompadour. I wrote that there were two other copies, but it seems that there a lot more than that out there! One in particular right at on the rooftop of my workplace : Hermes 24 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré (or the Mother Ship as I sometimes refer to it). On the rooftop there is a “secret” garden where the Hermès family members can entertain VIP clients and guests or where salespeople like me can occasionally bring a cherished client!

L’Amour, he sits there greeting all who enter with his darling wicked little grin, always ready to strike an arrow into your heart. Maybe this is why so many people are so passionate for Hermès. I know clients who are such fans of the brand that it is practically a hobby for them.

It’s certain, if you fall in love with Hermès, you’ll never be bored. I don’t really blog about my work much here. But…. I have been struck by the Hermès arrow too. Even if you don’t have the budget for a Birkin, there is literally something in the boutique for every budget, and I would be happy to sell it to you! (And there is my darling wicked little grin!)

  1. That’s a nice scarf you are wearing. It’s interesting to know that you work for Hermès. Their products are terribly expensive… even a scarf is beyond the reach of most!
