American in Paris Expat Fun Luxe Nightlife Paris

The Champagne Social!

So thrilled have attended this luxe and sparkling soirée hosted by two fabulous ladies :  New York transplant, Paris expat, the fabulous, the hilarious, the bubbly Lisa of Ella Coquine; and native-New Yorker, author and absolute doll Cara of The Champagne Diet. She is a best selling author and life coach from New York City who encourages women to live their most effervescent lives and celebrate themselves and this was her first trip to Paris! OMG!
What better way to celebrate such a life event than with a champagne party.

And when you say party you say déco! On board with Lisa and Cara’s champagne crew, they have entrusted the soirée’s “look” to the lovely Miss Lauren Lou Bate of the Folies du Bonheur.  This cradty lady left her beloved role of marketing for some of Australia’s favorite magazines to pursue a childhood dream of living in Paris (a girl after my own heart!). She combines her passion for crafts, paper, connecting, and celebrating by hosting intimate events around the city and documenting it on her blog. Lisa and Lauren documented their labor with a fun and funny video breaking bad style… I’ll add it here if I get my hands on it.

And of course darlings…a luxury party would certainly not be a party without the proper space! Luxury rental agency Habitat Parisien made that happen for ts chic soirée! (oh là là!!) Take a little tour of the Popincourt Loft on their site, and perhaps book it for your next party in Paris, or stay there on your next vacation here.

The party was THE Paris bloggers event of the season. So of course I made sure to honor my hostesses with an over the top snazzy outfit. I wore my fire engine red Costume Nationale cocktail dress and my feet-killing Lady Page Louboutin 16cm heels. (Yes, by the end of the night my feet felt like logs). But it was so worth the fashion effort because these ladies had spent the better part of the weekend prepping the soirée.

I ran into (as Lisa says) “la crème de la crème” of the Paris expat blogging community. We sipped our bubbly, nibbled on little delicious bites, snapped souvenir pics at the photo booth, visited the fabulous apartment and danced to pop music as the corks were popping off the bottles of Courtage. For more pics, head here.

It was a fun, beautiful soirée and a must-do every year from now on!

  1. The dress is divine!! What nibbles were served with the champagne? I host champagne Friday every week, love trying new pickies for my guests

  2. Such a wonderful description of a FAB party! But I’ve noticed in your blog entries that you write AFTER the sparkling events have happened. Wouldn’t it make sense to notify your readers before the event so they , too, can partake of the bubbly and festivities?

    1. It certainly would be difficult Robin to give a sparkling rundown of an event AFTER it happens, but thanks for your opinion. 🙂 Enjoy your holiday festivities with your friends and family.

  3. Thank you for your this fantastic post on the party! I love the photos you took. You really captured the essence of the party. And, seriously, you were so fabulous in your red little mini dress. You werked it!

I still smile when thinking back at the evening.

One thing though: I want to clarify my quote which kind of makes me sound bitchy and elitist. Reading it in print dissolved my playful tone which was meant to just honor and appreciate all of you who came out. I had invited many other lovely bloggers and creative types in Paris who sadly couldn’t make it and if anyone felt excluded, it was an oversight. I think anyone who takes the time to manage a blog is the crème de la crème. Truth.

Thank you again for covering the party! I look forward to the next one….! ; )
