Guy Laroche SS13

The Guy Larchose SS13 show at the tent in the Tuileries garden was as straight forward as fashion gets. Marcel Marongiu who hasbeen designing for the brand since 2007, created a streamlined collection with straight lines and skin reavealing outfits that interestingly enough retain a certain aura of a “good-girl” look. The looks are topped off with shoes and/or handbags to match.

His palette : Pale pink, white, black, light purple and a couple of blue hues with two patterns featured, a triangle print and an abstract leaf print, seen on both the clothes and the accessories.

Skirts were mostly knee-length, which is unsderstandable as more skin on top was revealed with the t-back tops or “tube tops” if you can call them that. I liked the stricktly simple style to the collection with one or two twists per look, but there was a little bit of frumpiness in a couple of the pieces that didn’t really convey that cozy-comfy wear type of garment that we are starting to see everywhere in the magazines and on the runways.
He did show some lovely pleated chiffon dresses though that give off a bit of a retro style that is all the rage this year (and next). I also find the two-toned fringe skirts rather creative.
